At Bethel Network, our commitment to improving community health and wellbeing is unwavering. In collaboration with the Laikipia County Government and other key stakeholders, we’ve embarked on a crucial mission: providing access to clean drinking water for households in Laikipia West, particularly those relying on water pans and dams.
The Challenge: Unsafe Drinking Water
In many parts of Laikipia West, households, schools, and health centers depend on water from pans and dams. Unfortunately, these sources are often contaminated, posing serious health risks. Waterborne diseases, such as cholera and diarrhea, are common in communities relying on untreated water. Recognizing this critical challenge, Bethel Network, alongside our partners, launched the “Access to Clean Drinking Water” program.
Our Solution: P&G Water Purifier Sachets
The cornerstone of our intervention is the distribution of P&G water purifier sachets. These small yet powerful sachets are designed to make contaminated water safe for drinking, providing a lifeline to communities that have long struggled with access to clean water.
Impact in 2024: Reaching Thousands
So far in 2024, our efforts have yielded impressive results. We have successfully purified 1,800,000 liters of water, reaching 2,000 households, schools, and health centers. This not only ensures that families have safe drinking water but also contributes to the overall health and wellbeing of the community.
Looking Ahead: A Continued Commitment
As we continue to work towards our goal of ensuring clean drinking water for all, we remain committed to supporting the health and development of communities in Laikipia West. Clean water is not just a basic need—it’s a foundation for better health, education, and prosperity.
Together, we can create a future where every household has access to safe and clean drinking water.
