- Bethel Network has been implementing our programs in areas characterized by abject poverty and tribal conflicts and wars. It is thus critical for us to include the conflict resolution and peace building concept in all our programs as an integral peaceful coexistence intervention.
- Baringo County is one of the worst affected area of our operation. After the recent tribal skirmishes between two warring communities, the Pokot and the Tugen, majority of the populations were found to be suffering from severe Post- Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
- Bethel therefore, in conjunction with Caritas Nyahururu, were funded by the Swiss Catholic Lenten fund (FASTENOPFER) to conduct counselling to school children and their teachers as an emergency intervention.
