YOUTH AND WOMEN ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT (YWEE)

  • Bethel Network conducts a high-impact and data informed poverty reduction programs for youth and women in arid and semi-arid lands (ASALs) of Baringo, Laikipia, Murang’a, Makueni, Tharaka Nithi, Nyandarua, and Nyeri Counties in Kenya.
  • We work with poor women and youth who are highly disadvantaged by abject poverty in our concerted efforts to graduate them out of life-threatening poverty.
  • We address the issues of low and inconsistent incomes as well as the constraints related to insufficient and mostly unavailable financial services for the youth and women.
  • We train these vulnerable communities on critical life skills, entrepreneurial and financial literacy skills that enable them to start small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in their communities.
  • We further link them to sources of funds so they can sustainably continue with the businesses and manage their expenses such as food, medical care and school fees
