Empowering Young Girls: Bethel Network’s School Program in Action

At Bethel Network, we are committed to empowering young girls with the knowledge, skills, and resources they need to thrive. On March 8th, 2024, we continued our school program by visiting Kimathi Primary and Junior Secondary School in Kinangop, where we conducted engaging sessions on life skills and menstrual health management.

The day was filled with valuable lessons and meaningful interactions as our team connected with students to discuss essential life skills, including communication, decision-making, and problem-solving. Through interactive activities and discussions, we emphasized the importance of these skills in navigating various challenges and opportunities in life.

In addition to life skills education, we also addressed menstrual health management, a crucial aspect of adolescent health and well-being. Recognizing the importance of breaking the silence surrounding menstruation, we created a safe and supportive environment for girls to learn about menstrual hygiene practices and address any questions or concerns they may have had.

As part of our commitment to supporting girls’ menstrual health needs, we distributed sanitary pads to the young girls at Kimathi Primary and Junior Secondary School. Access to menstrual hygiene products is essential for ensuring that girls can attend school with dignity and confidence, without being held back by menstruation-related challenges.

The response from both students and school staff was overwhelmingly positive, underscoring the significance of our efforts in promoting girls’ empowerment and well-being. By providing education and resources on life skills , puberty education and menstrual health management, we are equipping young girls and boys with the tools they need to stay healthy, confident, and resilient.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff and students of Kimathi Primary and Junior Secondary School for welcoming us with open arms and actively participating in our program. Your enthusiasm and engagement are a testament to the importance of investing in girls’ education and empowerment.

As we continue our school program throughout the year, we remain committed to supporting young girls in their journey towards a brighter future. Together, we can create a world where every girl has the opportunity to reach her full potential and thrive.

Stay tuned for more updates on our school program and other initiatives as we work towards building healthier, more empowered communities.
