CHILDREN SAFE DRINKING WATER (CSDW) PROGRAM

  • Bethel Network aims at providing improved access to clean drinking water to rural households in Olmoran, Githiga and Sossian wards of Laikipia County.
  • The 1st phase of the program started in 2015 and targeted 7000 households and 45 schools. Phase 2 extension program started in January 2017, targeting 3500 households in Sossian and Olmoran and 30 primary schools (an approximate general population of over 35,000).
  • The household program involves house to house demonstrations on procedures and processes of cleaning water in the project areas.
  • The program targets both primary and secondary schools and advices them to not only instill use of P&G purifier in schools but also to replicate the skills and knowledge to their parents at home. School girls learn water purification skills
